Product positioning
R-7110 is a high-solids modified polyolefin hot-melt adhesive for door-panel skins, sunroof attachments, spare-wheel covers and door inserts. The current TDS states a typical 1-2 minute open time at 180°C and a 90°C heat-resistance target.
Website data are typical under defined TDS or project conditions and are not an unconditional production guarantee.
Key characteristics
- Typical open time of 1-2 minutes at 180°C
- Confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes permit bonding without primer, flame or plasma; validate ABS separately
- At least 99% solids; current TDS states 100%
- Developed around a 90°C project heat-resistance target
R-7206 / R-7110: conditions for bonding PP without activation
R-7206 and R-7110 are modified polyolefin hot-melt adhesives. Compatibility between the non-polar polyolefin and PP systems helps explain direct bonding on confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes, without primer, flame or plasma pretreatment.
Omitting activation does not remove the need for cleaning. Control release agents, oil, dust, recycled content and surface condition, then validate peel, heat creep and aged durability on actual parts. This does not cover every PP grade or load, and must not be generalized to all PUD adhesives.

R-7110 FAQ
Direct answers for technical buyers, process engineers and sourcing teams.
01How long is the open time?
The current TDS states 1-2 minutes at 180°C. Real open time also depends on application temperature, coat weight, substrate heat capacity, environment and line speed.
02Can R-7110 bond untreated PP and ABS?
R-7110 is a modified polyolefin hot melt, whose compatibility with the non-polar PP system helps explain direct bonding. Confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes can omit primer, flame and plasma. Cleaning remains necessary; control resin grade, release agents, oil, recycled content and texture, and verify peel, heat creep and environmental durability on production parts.
03Does the 90°C target mean it will never debond?
No. Heat resistance depends on the substrate pair, coat weight, bonded area, load, exposure duration and process. Validate the actual part to the customer specification.
04What does high solids mean?
R-7110 is presented as at least 99% solids, with the current TDS stating 100%. This reduces solvent-related load but does not by itself prove zero odor or zero emissions.
05What process temperatures are recommended?
Current guidance is 180±10°C in the tank, 185±10°C in the hose and 190±10°C at the nozzle, with a maximum of 210°C.
06What must be tested before production?
Confirm open time, peel, 90°C heat aging, creep, humidity aging, thermal cycling, low-temperature impact, coat-weight range, char formation and batch consistency.
