Product positioning
R-7206 is a one-component modified polyolefin hot-melt adhesive for automotive skin lamination and attachment fixing. Formal testing records approximately 99% solids, while a confirmed project process targets no debonding at 110°C.
Website data are typical under defined TDS or project conditions and are not an unconditional production guarantee.
Key characteristics
- 110°C no-debonding target under a confirmed project process
- Approx. 99% solids in formal testing; current TDS states 100%
- Confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes permit bonding without primer, flame or plasma; validate ABS and glass-filled materials separately
- Applications from skin lamination to reinforcement, bracket and harness fixing
R-7206 / R-7110: conditions for bonding PP without activation
R-7206 and R-7110 are modified polyolefin hot-melt adhesives. Compatibility between the non-polar polyolefin and PP systems helps explain direct bonding on confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes, without primer, flame or plasma pretreatment.
Omitting activation does not remove the need for cleaning. Control release agents, oil, dust, recycled content and surface condition, then validate peel, heat creep and aged durability on actual parts. This does not cover every PP grade or load, and must not be generalized to all PUD adhesives.

R-7206 FAQ
Direct answers for technical buyers, process engineers and sourcing teams.
01Can R-7206 bond PP, ABS and low-surface-energy materials?
R-7206 is a modified polyolefin hot melt. Compatibility with the non-polar PP system helps explain direct bonding on confirmed PP grades, clean surfaces and validated processes without primer, flame or plasma. Existing material references include ABS+GF30% and PP+GF20%; they do not cover every grade or load. Control release agents, oil, recycled content and surface condition, then validate peel, heat creep and aged durability on actual parts.
02How should the 110°C statement be understood?
It is a no-debonding target under confirmed project conditions, not a universal guarantee. Part load, exposure duration, coat weight and geometry all matter.
03What are the process temperature and open time?
Current guidance is 180±10°C in the tank, 185±10°C in the hose and 190±10°C at the nozzle. Open time at 180°C is approximately 1-2 minutes.
04Does approximately 99% solids mean zero VOC?
No. High solids reduce dependence on evaporating solvent, but the final part and production environment still require odor, VOC and compliance evaluation.
05Why can hot melt string, spray unevenly or char?
Common causes include temperature fluctuation, prolonged overheating, long residence time, filter or nozzle condition and contamination with another adhesive.
06Is the 150°C softening point the continuous service temperature?
No. Ring-and-ball softening point is a material characteristic under a defined method and cannot replace loaded part-level heat-aging tests.
